What is mid south coliseum?

The Mid-South Coliseum was a multi-purpose arena located in Memphis, Tennessee. It was originally built in 1963 and served as a popular venue for various events including concerts, sporting events, and professional wrestling matches.

The arena had a seating capacity of around 10,085 for sporting events and up to 11,200 for concerts. It was home to the Memphis State University basketball team (now known as the University of Memphis) from 1963 to 1991.

Throughout its history, the Mid-South Coliseum hosted numerous memorable events, including concerts by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, as well as wrestling matches featuring legends like Jerry Lawler and Ric Flair.

Despite its historic significance, the Mid-South Coliseum fell into disrepair in the late 2000s and was eventually closed in 2006. There have been discussions and efforts to restore and preserve the venue, but as of now, the future of the Mid-South Coliseum remains uncertain.
